Welcome to TX Coastal Dementia/Aging-Friendly Mission!

Dementia Friendly America Initiative Launches In Communities Across The U.S..A dementia friendly community is defined as one that is informed, safe and respectful of individuals with dementia and their families, provides supportive options, and fosters quality of life.

A Dementia Friend learns about dementia and then turns that understanding into action. We all have a part to play in creating dementia friendly communities!

Dementia Friends USA is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. Developed by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom, the Dementia Friends initiative is underway in the USA. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia.

Join us: Felipa Wilmot with The Coastal Bend Area council on Aging. The Area Agency on Aging of the Coastal Bend (AAA), a program division of Coastal Bend Council of Governments (CBCOG), housed within the CBCOG, was created by virtue of Resolution No. 234 on February 22, 1974 and is one of 28 Area Agencies on Aging in Texas. And MANY more in our MISSION to help the Coastal Bend area of Texas become Dementia/Aging Friendly!
